'The Sea As A Body. If one looks at the surface of the sea and its tidal movements, one can see it is breathing. Its own kind of breathing. This upper layer of the sea is its skin. It is called, in scientific terms, the epipelagic zone, or the sunlight zone, as it is the part of the body which takes in the sunlight. I have myself seen the sea’s skin shivering under fierce winds.'
Series of short texts and images produced while working as a naturalist on whale-watching boats in Northern Iceland. An extract of the text was part of the exhibition C-E-T-A-C-E-A at the Húsavík Whale Museum, and a booklet was produced compiling the series.
